The Device Group Properties table appears. This table contains the following information.
Property | Description |
---|---|
Current Status | State of the device group. Device groups can be online or offline. |
Device Group Name | Name of the device group. |
Device Group Type | Volume manager that creates the disk groups. |
Primary | Node that is currently hosting the device group. |
Secondaries | Nodes that are currently operating as secondaries for the device group. |
Spares | Nodes that are currently operating as spares for the device group. |
Nodelist | Nodes that are physically connected to the device group. The order of the list is determined when the device group is created and indicates the failover preference. If a problem occurs, the device group fails over to the next node on the list. |
Failback | Returns a device group to its primary node after the primary node has failed and has been restarted as a cluster member. Failback values are enabled and disabled. |
Preference Nodelist | Indicates that secondaries are to be chosen according to the order of the node list. |
Desired Number of Secondaries | Indicates the desired number of secondaries for the device group.
By default, SunPlex Manager uses 1 as the number of secondaries for a device group. If you specify a number that is greater than the actual number of available secondaries, the actual number of available secondaries is used.Check and, if necessary, modify the desired number of secondaries value when you add or remove nodes from a disk device group. Modifying Device Group Properties describes how to change the desired number of secondaries, as well as other device group properties. |
Logical Disk | Path to the logical device. This property displays for mounted Solaris Volume Manager, formerly known as Solstice DiskSuite, volumes. |
Mounted Filesystem | Mount point for the file system that uses the logical device. This property displays for mounted Solaris Volume Manager, formerly known as Solstice DiskSuite, volumes. |
Note: If your cluster has more than eight nodes, the device group topology is not displayed as an option from the View menu.
The Disk Path table appears. This table contains the following information.
Disk Path | Status |
---|---|
Global Disk Path | State of the disk path. Disk paths can be Ok, Fail, Unmonitored, or Unknown. |
For example, if the current primary needs to be rebooted, switch the device group to a different primary.
